During the production of her debut album, METACOMUNICANÇÃO, Brazilian experimental music icon Tom Zé described Tainá e i o u as "a great hope for music." After listening to the album, he added, "It's a very experimental and daring album."

On stage, Tainá e i o u offers an immersive and highly original concert experience, where Amazonian rhythmic traditions, contemporary jazz structures, and experimental sound creation coexist harmoniously.

Her performances are characterized by strong interaction with the band and the audience, creating a vibrant musical space that fluidly oscillates between ancestral memory and avant-garde expression.

She is accompanied by a talented ensemble of Brazilian musicians based in Lisbon: Ricardo Dias Gomes (electric bass), Guilherme Pestana Vaz (electric guitar), Yedo Gibson (saxophones), and Juninho Ibituruna (drums), whose backgrounds in jazz, improvisation, and contemporary music enrich the project's sonic palette on stage.

In 2024, she received the Premio Tenco – Side B in Sanremo, Italy, confirming her status as a unique and captivating voice on the international world music, jazz, and experimental music scene.

Tainá e i o u has performed on some of the biggest stages in Brazil and Europe, including the Theatro da Paz in Belém do Pará, one of the world's most important theaters, as part of the AmajazzOn Festival.

She was invited to represent the arrival of the WOMAD Brasil Festival in Curitiba and has also performed at the Casa da Música in Porto and B.O.T.A. in Lisbon. Her music has taken her to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Amazonas, Belém do Pará, Curitiba, Lisbon, and Porto.

Her work is widely recognized for its innovative approach to Amazonian rhythms, such as Beiradão and Carimbó, reinvented through the harmonies of contemporary jazz, experimental forms, and musical traditions from around the world. Her debut album (September 2025), METACOMUNICANÇÃO, represents several world firsts: it is the first music album to include a complete translation into Nheengatu, a sincretic indigenous/european language of profound historical and cultural significance - before Portuguese idiom establish itself as Brazil's official language Nheengatu would be the most spoken idiom in Brazil for centuries - and also the first music album to present a traditional indigenous song alongside a twelve-tone serialism piano composition, creating a unique musical dialogue never heard before.

Throughout the album, the songs are predominantly in Portuguese, with the exception of one track performed in an indigenous language by a Mepaeruna artist from the Tikuna people.

During her career, Tainá e i o u has shared the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Avishai Cohen, Amazônia Jazz Band, Thiago Queiroz, Marcelo Callado, Rubinho Jacobina, Uriel Herman, Matchume Zango, Vinicius Chagas, Jota P, and Di Melo.
